Before you register for a French course, you need one number: your CEFR level. This online placement test gives you that answer in a single sitting, so you register at the right step instead of guessing.
What the test measures
The test follows the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and checks reading, listening, grammar and vocabulary. It is built to place you accurately rather than give a rough estimate.
How the result is used
- Your result decides which step you register for, not a guess based on how long you’ve studied French
- Our general courses run from A1.1 to B2.4, split into four steps per level, so an accurate placement matters
- Already a CECFQ student? Your teacher tells you your next step directly, no need to retake the test
Format
The test is completed online and takes a limited amount of time to finish. The result stands as your placement for registration.
Next step
Once you have your result, you can register directly for the matching level in our upcoming course session.
