French Placement Test

CECFQ offers you an online placement test that is reliable and well-structured, designed according to the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

This test was developed by the Alliance Française de La Haye, an internationally recognized institution.

Fees and Conditions

The test fee is CAD $15.

If you register for a course within 5 days of completing the test, the amount paid will be deducted from your first invoice.

Please note

As certain sessions approach, CECFQ may exceptionally open a limited number of free placement test spots, allowing prospective students to assess their level before committing to a course.

Important

If you are a complete beginner and have never studied French, no test is required.

You may register directly for Level A1.1, which is specifically designed for new learners.

The test evaluates your level according to the official CEFR scale:
A1, A2, B1, and B2.

How does it work?

The process is simple:

Purchase the test online

After payment, you will automatically receive the access link by email (please check your spam folder).

Take the test

It is fully online and accessible from a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Approximate duration: 30 to 45 minutes.

Receive your results

Once the test is completed, we will email you your level along with personalized recommendations.

Good to Know

The test covers CEFR levels from A1 to B2.

It does not provide an official certificate. The results are for informational purposes only and are intended to guide you toward the most suitable course.
